The Pentagon has criticized Europe for holding lavish conferences on the Strait of Hormuz

U.S. Secretary of Defense Pete Hagset criticized European allies for not doing enough regarding the security of the Strait of Hormuz and urged them to move from words to action.

He made this statement during a briefing.

According to the Pentagon chief, the United States does not rely on Europe to ensure security in the region, even though European countries are far more dependent on stability in the Strait of Hormuz.

Hegset emphasized that the U.S. hardly uses this route for energy supplies, whereas it is of critical importance for Europe and Asia.

He also stated that allies have benefited from American protection for years but must now take on greater responsibility.

Separately, the minister criticized European initiatives, particularly the holding of military conferences, calling them insufficient.

According to him, allies should “talk less and hold fewer lavish conferences” and focus more on practical security measures.
