Near Rome, a train derailed because of cows on the tracks

Near Rome, a passenger train carrying more than 400 people derailed after colliding with cows that had wandered onto the tracks. None of the passengers were injured in the incident.

The accident occurred at 5:10 a.m. on Monday involving a regional train that had just departed from the Piana Bella station in the suburbs of Rome. After hitting several cows that had wandered onto the tracks, the train derailed.

None of the approximately 450 passengers or railway crew members were injured, but the accident caused damage to the train and infrastructure, according to the railway administration.

Passengers were transferred to a backup train, which continued their journey along the route. Traffic on the section had to be partially restricted, and passengers on the line were warned of possible delays and cancellations of subsequent commuter trains.

This was reported by the Italian news agencies ANSA and AGI.

Italy is demanding a change to the international name for the unit of voltage.

Earlier, the Armenian government approved an agreement with the EU to discontinue the use of the geographical indication “cognac.” A new name and marketing strategy will be sought for this product.

Ukraine has signed a similar agreement to abandon European geographical indications.
