Poland has scrambled its air force in response to Russian strikes on Ukraine

The Polish military has once again deployed aircraft in its airspace in response to yet another Russian attack on Ukrainian territory. 

“The Operational Command of the Polish Armed Forces has deployed available forces and assets. Ground-based air defense and radar surveillance systems have been placed on combat alert,” the command stated in a release.

The Polish command noted that the measures taken are precautionary in nature. Their goal is to ensure the security and protection of Poland’s airspace, particularly in areas directly bordering zones of potential threat.

Due to Russian strikes on Ukraine, the Polish military has stepped up the operation of its air defense and radar surveillance systems.

The Operational Command of the Polish Armed Forces continues to monitor the situation. The forces and assets under its command remain on standby to respond immediately should a threat arise.

As a reminder, on September 21, Poland and Latvia put their military aviation on alert amid reports of an air threat. In Poland, this occurred during the Russian attack on Ukraine, while in Latvia, the alert concerned the Kraslav region.

On the night of September 30, Russian troops attacked Kyiv with ballistic missiles and drones. As a result of the strike, fires broke out in four districts of the capital, and two women were killed.

Starting in the evening of September 29, Russian forces attacked three districts of the Dnipropetrovsk region with drones. The strikes damaged infrastructure and caused fires.

On the morning of September 30, Russian forces attacked Ukraine with drones. During the air raid alert, explosions were heard in Rivne and later in Lutsk.

A drone strike in the Kyiv region caused a fire in residential buildings; two people were rescued.

As a reminder, debris from a Russian drone caused a fire in a five-story building in Kyiv.

Following the Russian Federation’s nighttime attack on Kyiv, an educational institution was hit.
