Poland extends controls at borders with Germany and Lithuania — Anadolu Agency
Poland has extended border controls at its borders with Germany and Lithuania for six months — from October 2, 2026, to March 30, 2027. The relevant order was issued by Interior Minister Marcin Kierwiński.
Purpose of extending controls
The Polish government said the decision is intended to further reduce illegal migration and strengthen the country’s security. As Anadolu Agency reports, controls at both sections of the border have been in place since July 7, 2025, due to migration pressure from Belarus.
