Poland has issued an ultimatum to Zelenskyy regarding the preservation of the order

Poland has stated that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy could lose the country’s highest state award—the Order of the White Eagle—if Kyiv does not reverse its decision to bestow the honorary title “Heroes of the UPA” on one of its military units.

This was announced by Marcin Przydacz, head of the International Policy Bureau at the Office of the President of Poland.

According to him, the Ukrainian side still has the opportunity to revoke this decision and avoid further steps by Warsaw. Otherwise, the procedure regarding the award may conclude with a decision by the Polish president in the near future.

Przydacz emphasized that the decision to honor the UPA has sparked a negative reaction in Polish society and stated that the further development of the situation depends on Kyiv’s actions.

“The ball is in Ukraine’s court,” the Polish official noted, adding that Warsaw expects concrete steps to improve bilateral relations.
