The Ukrainian Ambassador Responded to Attacks on Ukrainians in Poland

Vasyl Bodnar, Ukraine’s ambassador to Poland, commented on the recent incidents of attacks and acts of aggression against Ukrainians, expressing hope that these are temporary and will not become a trend.

According to the diplomat, isolated incidents do not reflect the general attitude of Polish society toward Ukrainians. He noted that Poland’s political leadership unequivocally condemns such acts.

Bodnar also emphasized that Ukrainians living in Poland make a significant contribution to the country’s life. At the same time, he noted that due to the heightened attention on the topic of Ukraine and its politicization, isolated incidents are receiving widespread publicity.

The ambassador expressed hope that once the war ends, most Ukrainians will return home, where their participation in the country’s reconstruction will be needed.

Separately, the diplomat thanked the Polish authorities for their response to incidents of violence and hate speech targeting Ukrainian citizens.
