A fire at an infrastructure facility has halted rail service between the Netherlands and the United Kingdom
International rail service between the Netherlands and the United Kingdom has been temporarily suspended due to a fire in a cable trench on the section between Rotterdam and Zwijndrecht. Due to significant damage to the infrastructure, Eurostar international trains between Amsterdam and London will not be running in the coming days.
Due to the emergency, trains from the United Kingdom will currently only run as far as Brussels and will not continue on to cities in the Netherlands. Full restoration of service on the blocked section is not expected until July 3 at the earliest, and domestic train services from Rotterdam to the south of the country have been canceled until at least Thursday evening.
The carrier has offered a full refund for tickets purchased by passengers whose trips from Amsterdam or Rotterdam to London have been canceled.
The incident has also affected rail service between the Netherlands and Belgium and France. Delays of up to one hour are being reported on routes to Paris and Brussels. To ensure passenger service on these routes, trains are currently being rerouted through the city of Utrecht.
This was reported by NOS.
In Stuttgart, Germany, train service was suspended due to a fire near the station.
Following inspections in May, the two largest payment terminal networks—EasyPay (LLC “FC ‘Kontraktovy Dom’”) and City24 (LLC “Swift Garant”)—were hit with massive fines: 135 million hryvnias each.
