The British Prime Minister acknowledged that leaving the EU would be detrimental to the country
During a speech at the Labour Party convention in Liverpool, British Prime Minister Andy Burnham criticized the consequences of Brexit, stating that leaving the European Union had done the country more harm than good, and led to a loss of some control over the economy and immigration.
The prime minister hinted at the possibility of revising the “red lines” (particularly regarding not returning to the single market or the customs union) and noted that later this year at the summit, the United Kingdom — the UK will present options for deepening and defining its long-term relationship with its European partners.
The summit between the UK and the EU, originally scheduled for July, was postponed due to the resignation of former Prime Minister Keir Starmer, and a new date for the event has not yet been set.

In Strasbourg, France, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen invited Canada to help make it the European Union’s first associate member. At the same time, according to a senior EU official, a similar arrangement is not envisaged for the United Kingdom after Brexit.
Former British Prime Minister Tony Blair stated that the country should aim to return to a reformed European Union within the next decade.
