Swedish Prime Minister Sees No Signs That Russia Is Preparing to Attack NATO Countries

Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson stated that there are currently no signs that Russia is preparing a military attack on any NATO country. At the same time, he emphasized that the Alliance faces numerous hybrid threats from Moscow.

According to Kristersson, Russia is well aware of the consequences of a possible attack on a NATO member state. At the same time, he drew attention to other risks, including damage to undersea cables and the activities of Russia’s “shadow fleet.”

The prime minister also stressed that Russia’s massive strikes on Ukrainian cities are yet another reason to increase military aid to Ukraine, particularly in the area of air defense.

As a reminder, since late 2025, the North Atlantic Alliance and its allies have reduced their response time to suspicious incidents in the Baltic Sea from 17 hours to 1 hour thanks to the special operation “Baltic Sentry.”

French military aircraft took to the skies at least 11 times last week as part of a NATO mission to patrol the airspace over the Baltic states in order to intercept Russian aircraft.

Romanian NATO fighter jets intercepted a Russian reconnaissance aircraft over the Baltic Sea.
