The President of Romania sent a delegation to the U.S. due to Russian drones
Romanian President Nicușor Dan has sent a delegation to the United States led by National Security Advisor Marius Lazurka and Chief of the General Staff of Defense Vlad Georgicea. One of the key topics of the talks will be incidents involving Russian drones.
During the visit, Romanian officials plan to discuss security issues with their American counterparts, including incidents involving Russian drones violating Romanian airspace.
In addition to incidents involving drones violating Romania’s airspace, the visit will also include discussions on security in the Black Sea.
As noted, Romanian representatives will raise these issues during meetings with representatives of the Donald Trump administration and the U.S. Congress.
“These threats remind us how important our strong security partnership with the United States is and how grateful we are for it,” Advisor Marius Lazurka wrote Monday evening in a post on X.

Romania spent €1.5 million to shoot down three Russian drones.
As a reminder, the Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs summoned the ambassador of the Russian Federation, the aggressor state, over repeated violations of the country’s airspace by drones. This occurred after Romanian fighter jets shot down the third drone in the last three days that had violated Romania’s airspace.
Moldova condemned Russia’s violation of Romania’s airspace.
