Border guards have released statistics on the entry of citizens from India and Bangladesh
The State Border Guard Service of Ukraine has released data on border crossings by citizens of India and Bangladesh during the 2024–2026 period.
At the same time, the agency emphasized that the statistics reflect the number of entries and exits across the state border, not the number of individual persons. According to the State Border Service, in 2024, Indian citizens made 7,800 entries into Ukraine and 9,500 exits. Information regarding border crossings by Bangladeshi citizens during the same period was also released.
In 2025, 8,300 Indian citizens entered Ukraine and 8,800 left, while in the first four months of 2026, there were 2,500 entries and 2,300 exits.
Thus, the statistics show that the number of departures of Indian citizens from Ukraine exceeds the number of entries.
As for Bangladeshi citizens, in 2024 there were 300 entries into Ukraine and 300 departures; in 2025, 280 Bangladeshi citizens entered the country, while 260 departed. As for 2026, in the first four months, 60 entries by Bangladeshi citizens into Ukraine and 60 departures were recorded.
The State Border Guard Service explained that the statistics reflect the number of border crossings, not the number of individuals, since a single citizen could be counted multiple times in the data if they entered and exited Ukraine repeatedly throughout the year.
