A pro-Russian Latvian lawmaker reported receiving threats from Ukrainians and contacted the police
Andriy Pagors, a member of the Jelgava City Council and co-chair of the “Latvian Russian Union,” stated that he has recently been receiving numerous threats.
He reported that he decided to file several reports with the Latvian State Police to officially document them.
Pagors is known for his activities within the “Latvian Russian Union”—a political party that consistently takes pro-Russian positions. Pagors himself previously worked as an assistant to MEP Tatiana Zhdanok, who was one of Latvia’s most prominent pro-Russian politicians.

It is against this backdrop that his current statement about the threats has drawn attention. Pagors stated that he has already accumulated a significant number of reports and wants to test the Latvian police’s response.
“Not because I’m afraid. I just want everything to be officially recorded, in case something happens to me, and so that at least my children receive the insurance they are entitled to,” he wrote.

As a reminder, Lithuania is considering the possibility of purchasing air defense systems from South Korea.
Since the beginning of the year, Lithuanian border guards have discovered 12 underground tunnels near the border with Belarus that migrants were using to try to enter the country. The tunnels on Lithuanian territory were up to 25 meters long, according to Deutsche Welle, citing the Lithuanian State Border Guard Service.
