Trump's approval rating has fallen to its lowest level in his two terms as president

U.S. President Donald Trump’s approval rating has fallen to a record low for both of his terms in office. Thirty-three percent of Americans approve of his job performance, while 62% said they disapprove.

According to a poll by The Economist/YouGov, Trump’s net approval rating stands at minus 29 points. By comparison, at the same point in his first term, that figure was minus 10 points.

Trump’s support has fallen the most among independent voters. Currently, only 18% of them approve of him, while 71% disapprove of the president.

Among Democrats, his approval rating stands at 4%, while among MAGA supporters—who remain Trump’s main base of support within the Republican Party—it is 92%.

At the same time, ahead of the congressional elections, Democratic candidates lead Republicans by six percentage points—46% to 40%.
