Former Cambridge professor Jason Ardey was found dead in London
Jason Ardey, 41, a scholar who resigned last week from his position as a professor at the University of Cambridge, was found dead at his home in south London, according to The Guardian.
According to the London police, emergency medical services called law enforcement after 3:00 p.m. on Friday. The man was pronounced dead at the scene. His next of kin have been notified, and the police are providing them with support.
Police noted that the death is being treated as unexpected, but they do not currently consider it suspicious. Officers from the Central South Division of the London Police are investigating the circumstances, and the case file will be forwarded to the coroner.

Ardea was appointed professor of the sociology of education at Cambridge in 2023. He was the youngest Black professor in the university’s history. Last week, he stepped down amid allegations of plagiarism and reports of inconsistencies in his statements regarding his career and achievements.
In announcing his resignation, Ardey stated that the constant accusations, speculation, and public commentary had taken a significant toll on him and his loved ones. His autobiography, published by Simon & Schuster, was released in the U.S. this week. The publisher had previously announced plans to release the book in the United Kingdom later this month.
