Russia has lost four times as many soldiers in the war as Ukraine — Stubb

Finnish President Alexander Stubb stated that over the past four months, the Russian army has suffered significantly greater losses on the front lines than Ukraine. According to him, the difference is a multiple.

This is reported by Clash Report.

“How much better is the situation in Ukraine today than it was a year ago? Over the past four months—forgive me for being blunt, and I understand these are harsh words—but over the past four months, Ukraine has killed or wounded between 30,000 and 35,000 Russian soldiers every month,” he said.

The Finnish leader emphasized that Russia’s losses during this period are four times higher than Ukraine’s. According to him, a significant portion of the casualties were inflicted using drones.

He also noted that the casualty ratio is approximately one to five—for every Ukrainian soldier killed, there are five Russian soldiers.

Amid the fighting, peace talks between Ukraine and Russia are currently at an impasse. One of the reasons cited is the escalation of the situation in the Middle East.

In particular, the U.S. has shifted its focus to another conflict—the standoff with Iran—which has affected the dynamics of diplomatic processes surrounding the war in Ukraine.

Total combat losses of Russian troops in the war against Ukraine since February 24, 2022, as of April 27, 2026, have reached approximately 1,326,460 personnel. Over the past 24 hours alone, another 810 occupiers were eliminated.

Russian troops continue offensive operations on several fronts simultaneously, attempting to create so-called “buffer zones” and advance deeper into Ukrainian territory. In the Kharkiv region, the occupiers are employing new tactical approaches.

Since the start of the day, Russian troops have attacked the positions of the Ukrainian Defense Forces 62 times.

Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi instructed the commanders of formations and corps stationed on the front lines to conduct an inspection of the organization of military logistics by May 20.

Military analysts report that Russian occupiers are advancing in the Kupiansk district of the Kharkiv region.
