Rutte assured that the U.S. would not divert weapons intended for Ukraine to the Middle East
NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte stated that U.S. weapons intended for Ukraine under the PURL mechanism will not be redirected to the Middle East.
According to him, critical aid from the U.S. continues to arrive without interruption, despite the war in the Middle East.
This includes, in particular, interceptor missiles for Patriot systems and other vital air defense equipment.
Rutte emphasized that deliveries under the PURL program are vital for Ukraine, along with intelligence support from the U.S.
He also reported that since the program’s launch, approximately 75% of the missiles for the Patriot systems and 90% of the ammunition for other air defense systems have been delivered.
As a reminder, U.S. House Speaker Mike Johnson stated on March 25 that the “Epic Fury” military operation against Iran is nearing its conclusion.
White House spokesperson Caroline Levitt stated on March 25 that the U.S. would launch an unprecedented strike against Iran if Tehran did not immediately cease its resistance.
Prior to this, the Iranian leadership rejected the U.S. proposal for a “framework” of a potential agreement to end the war.
