Russia shared intelligence with Iran ahead of the attack on the U.S. airbase, — Zelenskyy
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Russia took satellite images of the U.S. airbase in Saudi Arabia three times in the days leading up to Iran’s attack on it, which resulted in injuries to U.S. military personnel.
He made this statement on Saturday during an interview with NBC News in Qatar.
According to Zelenskyy, he is 100% certain that Russia is sharing intelligence with Iran to help Tehran attack U.S. troops in the Middle East. “I think Russia is interested in helping the Iranians. And I don’t believe—I know—that they are sharing information. Are they helping the Iranians? Of course. By what percentage? One hundred percent,” the president emphasized.
He also noted that Russia’s repeated photographing of targets is a sign that an attack is being planned: “If they take pictures once, they’re preparing. If a second time—it’s like a simulation. A third time means they’ll attack in one or two days.”
Zelenskyy added that these observations are based on Ukraine’s experience and daily briefings from Ukrainian intelligence services.
As a reminder, the United States suffered significant technological and financial losses during the attack in the Middle East. As a result of the massive shelling of the Prince Sultan Air Base in Saudi Arabia, Iranian missiles and drones destroyed a rare E-3 Sentry (AWACS) long-range radar detection aircraft.
The day before, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps announced possible strikes on American universities in the Middle East.
And U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance stated that the U.S. intends to continue the war with Iran for some time to neutralize that country for a “very long period.”
