Romania scrambled fighter jets in response to a Russian attack in the Odesa region

 

On Monday night, the Romanian Ministry of Defense scrambled two F-16 fighter jets in response to a Russian drone attack on the Odessa region.

This was reported by the Romania Journal.

The Romanian Ministry of Defense stated that early Tuesday morning, April 14, Russian forces resumed drone attacks on civilian and infrastructure targets in Ukraine near the river border with Romania in Tulcea County.

“Two F-16 aircraft of the Romanian Air Force, part of the air patrol combat duty, took off from the 86th Air Base in Fetești, and air defense systems were deployed to firing positions. No intrusions into national airspace were detected. The air raid alert ended at 4:45 a.m.," the ministry said.

The ministry added that it continues to “keep allies informed in real time about the situations caused by these attacks and maintains constant contact with them.”
