Saudi Arabia welcomes launch of South-South Cooperation Alliance
Saudi Arabia welcomed the launch of the Global South-South and Triangular Cooperation Alliance. The kingdom said the alliance should strengthen integration, help avoid duplication of efforts, and at the same time take into account countries’ national priorities.
Statement by Saudi Arabia’s representative
Saudi Arabia’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Abdulaziz Alwasil, outlined the kingdom’s position on the occasion of the UN Day for South-South Cooperation. As Asharq Al-Awsat reports, he noted that the Saudi Vision 2030 program is aligned with the priorities of such cooperation.
Among these priorities, the diplomat named economic diversification, digital transformation, innovation, sustainable development, youth empowerment, and private-sector development.

Development financing
According to Alwasil, the Saudi Fund for Development has participated in supporting and financing projects and programs in more than 100 developing countries across various important sectors.
Saudi Arabia also reaffirmed its intention to continue cooperation with member states, the UN, and other partners to strengthen engagement and achieve more prosperous, sustainable, and inclusive development.
