The Lithuanian Seimas will decide on the fate of former Prime Minister Skvernelis’s immunity on April 16
On Thursday, April 16, the Lithuanian Parliament will consider the issue of lifting the parliamentary immunity of former Prime Minister Saulius Skvernelis.
This was reported by LRT.
The matter concerns a corruption investigation, which requires a decision by the Seimas to proceed with further investigative actions.
At least 71 votes out of 141 MPs are required to lift immunity.
Skvernelis himself denies the bribery charges and claims he is not involved in any illegal agreements.
He also stated that he will provide detailed explanations during the parliamentary session and will urge lawmakers to support the lifting of his immunity.
