Szijjártó denied accusations of pursuing a pro-Russian policy

Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó stated that he has never acted in Russia’s interests, but has merely sought to maintain pragmatic relations with Moscow.

He said this in an interview with Telex.

According to Szijjártó, accusations of a pro-Russian stance or even treason are offensive to him. He emphasized that for 11 years he has worked to develop “normal and pragmatic” relations with Russia, which, in his view, has benefited Hungary, particularly in the energy sector.

He also stressed that he considers accusations of serving the interests of another state to be serious and unfounded.

Commenting on the war in Ukraine, Szijjártó stated that he does not believe he could participate in combat operations, noting that he has no military experience.

The minister expressed hope that Hungary’s new government would be able to prevent the country from being drawn into the war.

As a reminder, despite Orbán’s opposition, Ukraine will receive 90 billion: IPA President Galina Heylo on the EU’s plans to finance the country.

Balázs Orbán, political director to Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, assured that Ukraine does not pose a military threat to his country.
