Sikorski rejected the Kremlin's claims of Western propaganda regarding the threat to Poland
Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski responded to a statement by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, who called reports of a possible Russian attack on Poland “intimidation” and “Western propaganda.” According to the Polish diplomat, Moscow made similar statements on the eve of its full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
“They said the same thing a few weeks before the invasion of Ukraine. After all, they categorically denied any intention to attack Ukraine, just as they had previously denied that the ‘little green men’ in Crimea were their troops; they said that anyone could buy weapons,” the Polish foreign minister emphasized.
Sikorski also noted that as long as Ukraine continues to resist Russian aggression, Russia is unable to launch a large-scale offensive against the West, particularly against Poland. At the same time, he said, Moscow remains capable of various provocations.
“If Russian officials say this won’t happen, perhaps they are either lying or have abandoned their plans in light of our warnings,” the minister stated.
Sikorski made these remarks ahead of a meeting of heads of Poland’s diplomatic missions abroad, according to RMF24.
As a reminder, Poland will declassify details of its aid to Ukraine following accusations of a secret transfer of Patriot missiles.
Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski stated that due to various statements and actions by Warsaw and Kyiv, Russia may be satisfied with how it has managed to pit Poles and Ukrainians against one another.
