Minister Wike’s son submits US passport in land case — Premium Times Nigeria

Jordan Wike, the son of Nigeria’s Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike, submitted his American passport to the Federal Capital Territory High Court in Abuja. The document was presented on September 30 during the hearing of a civil case in which the plaintiffs claim that he received $2.1 million in cash for assisting with the allocation of land plots.

As Premium Times Nigeria reports, the lawsuit was filed by Safwan Garba GY and GY Global Oil & Gas Nigeria Limited. They claim that Jordan Wike agreed to help them obtain 30 hectares of land in the Katampe and Guzape areas of Abuja for $2.1 million.

The plaintiffs’ position

The plaintiffs claim that they handed Jordan Wike $2.1 million in cash on September 26, 2025. According to them, Adamu Sani, Aliyu Sarki, Sai Wani, and Honor Sandy, who accompanied the minister’s son, were present during the transfer.

They also claim that $2 million was allegedly intended for Jordan Wike’s father, while $100,000 was for him personally. According to the plaintiffs, after receiving the money, he stopped responding. They allegedly later found out that the plots belonged to a company that was preparing to begin construction. The plaintiffs said they demanded the money back on October 31, 2025, but did not receive a positive response.

The defendant’s objections

Jordan Wike rejects the plaintiffs’ claims and says he knows nothing about the described transaction. During cross-examination, he stated that he was outside Nigeria and had left the country using his American passport.

Judge Sylvanus Oriji had previously ordered him to provide the passport following a dispute over his whereabouts on October 25, 2025. At the hearing, the court also granted the plaintiffs’ representative’s motion for Jordan Wike to write his full name five times on a sheet of paper and sign it.
