The son of the Shah of Iran called for protests and spoke out against negotiations with Tehran
Reza Pahlavi, the son of Iran’s deposed shah, stated that negotiations with Iran’s current government would not eliminate the threat to the United States, but would merely give Tehran more time.
This was reported by Reuters.
He spoke at the Conservative Political Action Conference in Texas, where he called on Iranians to take to the streets in mass protests against the current regime.
According to Pahlavi, the Iranian government is allegedly using negotiations to stall for time and is incapable of being a reliable partner in achieving peace.
He also stated that he is ready to return to Iran after the end of his long exile and lead a transitional government.
Pahlavi emphasized that a change of power in Iran could open new economic opportunities for the U.S. and change the country’s course.
