An employee at a Belarusian company ate fish food to impress Lukashenko – video

In the Mogilev region, during a visit by Belarus’s self-proclaimed president, Alexander Lukashenko, an employee of a biotechnology corporation publicly ate fish feed to demonstrate its quality.

The incident occurred at the “Paluzh” fish farm in the Krasnopilsky District during a discussion on import substitution and the breeding of valuable fish species, according to Charter97.

A representative of the Belarusian National Biotechnology Corporation demonstrated trout pellets and, to reinforce his claims about the product’s safety, ate a handful of the feed in front of the cameras. Lukashenko tried to dissuade the man from doing so, but those present in the entourage merely joked about the possible consequences.

This curious incident occurred amid Belarus’s attempts to demonstrate success in creating its own equivalents of Western goods. While Russia officially recorded a systemic recession in April 2026, Belarusian officials are resorting to radical methods to promote domestic production.

The video of the tasting quickly spread online, sparking a wave of ironic comments regarding the country’s quality control standards. Despite this peculiar demonstration, the question of the actual competitiveness of Belarusian feed on the international market remains open.

It should be noted that the visit to the Krasnopilsky District was dedicated to the development of the fishing industry in the region. It is currently unknown whether this incident will affect the corporation’s future contracts. Such stunts are becoming increasingly common in the public sphere of the union state against the backdrop of economic isolation.

On April 1, Belarus’s self-proclaimed president, Alexander Lukashenko, convened a meeting to review the results of a comprehensive inspection of the country’s armed forces, attended by approximately 300 high-ranking military officials

Lukashenko called on the Collective Security Treaty Organization to be more diplomatic in its relations with Yerevan.
