A sports coach in Russia is suspected of sexually harassing a teenager

Russian coach and referee Valentin Loskutov has found himself at the center of a high-profile scandal over allegations of sexual harassment of a minor athlete. The case involves the 23-year-old coach, who allegedly showed inappropriate interest in a figure skater born in 2011.

This was reported by Glavkom on May 1.

According to Anna Starkova, executive director of the Leningrad Region Figure Skating Federation, 23-year-old Loskutov showed an “unhealthy interest” in the skater, who was born in 2011.

“The young coach and judge Valentin Loskutov was showing strange signs of attention toward the child. Judging by everything, he has some kind of sexual interest in children. I won’t go into details, but the child showed me messages and told me about it, so I have no doubt about this. Apparently, investigators also have grounds for such suspicions, as a case has been opened against Loskutov under Article 135.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, “Indecent Acts,” and the court has issued a preventive measure in the form of a prohibition on certain actions.

“It is now important to find other victims, as this is a serious matter. I assume there may be others. An internal investigation is also underway within the Figure Skating Federation of St. Petersburg, the Leningrad Region, and the Interregional Federation of the Northwestern Federal District,” Starkova stated.

As a reminder, a 15-year-old suspect in a large-scale cyberattack was detained in France.

In Russia, the mayor of Ufa and several officials were detained.

A suspect in espionage on behalf of Russia was detained in Berlin.
