The U.S. may lift oil sanctions on Iran during the negotiations – Tasnim
The U.S. government is considering suspending economic restrictions on Iranian oil exports for the duration of the negotiations to conclude a final peace agreement. This new U.S. initiative differs from previous proposals in Washington’s willingness to make temporary concessions in the energy sector to create conditions for dialogue.
This was reported by the pro-government Iranian news agency Tasnim.
Official Tehran continues to insist unwaveringly on the complete and irreversible lifting of absolutely all existing international sanctions against the country as a prerequisite for signing the final document. However, at this stage, the U.S. side agrees only to a freeze on sanctions, which will remain in effect exclusively until final agreements on ending the armed conflict are reached.
To resolve the situation, the Iranian side has already prepared and submitted to Pakistani diplomats an updated 14-point peace plan, intended for further review by the U.S. leadership. According to informed sources, this document focuses in detail on practical steps to end hostilities and implement specific measures aimed at restoring trust between Washington and Tehran.
