Slovakia plans to buy gas from Azerbaijan instead of Gazprom
Slovakia, one of Gazprom’s few major customers in the EU, is preparing to sign a long-term contract with Azerbaijan for the supply of natural gas for at least 10 years.
This was announced by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Environment Tomáš Taraba, who emphasized that the country is seeking to diversify its energy supply and considers Azerbaijan a reliable partner, according to Russian media reports.
According to him, the main challenge is the logistics of deliveries from the Caucasus to Central Europe. Currently, the parties are discussing which specific gas pipelines can be used and in what volumes. Taraba also thanked Baku for its assistance during the recent disruptions in Russian gas imports, when Azerbaijan actively helped ensure supplies to Slovakia.

Earlier, we reported that the NEURC updated gas bills for residential consumers.
Additionally, the gas giant Hubshan, located in the United Arab Emirates, was forced to completely suspend all operations for the second time.
