The U.S. has condemned the strike by a Russian drone on a house in Romania
The United States has responded to the incident in the Romanian city of Galați, where a Russian drone struck a high-rise building. Officials in Washington condemned the violation of Romanian airspace and the strike on a civilian target, calling it an unacceptable escalation.
U.S. Ambassador to NATO Matthew Whitaker wrote about this on social media platform X.
According to him, the U.S. stands with Romania and condemns the Russian drone’s incursion into its territory.
"We stand with Romania and condemn this reckless intrusion into its territory. Our thoughts are with those injured in Galați. We will defend every inch of NATO territory," Whitaker said.
Romania explained why it did not intercept the Russian drone that struck a house.

During the Russian strike on the Odesa region on April 25, Russian drones were moving along the border with Romania. British aircraft patrolling Romanian airspace tracked their routes. Later, drone debris was found in border areas of Romania.
The Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs summoned the Russian ambassador over the incident involving a drone crash near the city of Galați.
