Stubb Says Trump Is Redoubling Efforts to Achieve Peace in Ukraine – Fox News
Thanks to the U.S. administration and U.S. President Donald Trump, the negotiation process aimed at ending the war in Ukraine has moved forward, and the situation has improved. That is the view of Finnish President Alexander Stubb.
According to the Finnish leader, the U.S. president has redoubled his efforts to establish peace through negotiators, notably Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner. Stubb noted that, together with Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre, he has been working “behind the scenes,” relaying information between the governments of Ukraine, the U.S., and European countries.
Commenting on Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s warning about a possible Russian attack on European countries, Stubb noted that he currently sees no factual basis for such a scenario. At the same time, he emphasized the difference between a full-scale war and a hybrid campaign: “We must view this as a campaign. Russia is trying to intimidate Europe, scare us, and get inside our heads.” The Finnish president added that Helsinki remains calm because it has been preparing for a potential threat from the east for decades.

Finnish President Alexander Stubb, speaking in New York, USA, called on European partners not to overreact to Russian hybrid threats. In his view, Russia, as an aggressor state, is attempting to intimidate Europe and weaken support for Ukraine, but has neither the interest nor the capability to move toward a full-scale military escalation against NATO.
