A ship carrying stolen Ukrainian grain is heading to Turkey after stopping in Israel – The Times of Israel

A ship that Ukraine suspects of transporting grain taken from the temporarily occupied territories is attempting to obtain permission to enter a Turkish port. The ship had previously tried unsuccessfully to unload in Israel, the Ukrainian ambassador said in a comment to The Times of Israel.

“We hope they will do the right thing, as Israel did,” says Ambassador Yevhen Korniychuk.

In April, Israeli importer Zenziper decided not to accept the shipment following a public dispute between Ukraine and Israel.

According to Korniychuk, Ukraine’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Prosecutor General’s Office are working to convince Ankara not to accept this shipment.

According to Turkish reports, the ship “Panormitis” arrived at the Turkish port of Iskenderun on May 13.
