Trump announces ten-day ceasefire on civilian infrastructure — Israel breaks it within 4 hours
Former US President Donald Trump declared a ten-day ceasefire aimed at protecting civilian infrastructure; however, Israel violated the ceasefire within just four hours, striking the three largest steel plants in Iran, which are critical to the country’s economy.
The strikes also targeted power plants and nuclear facilities, including a civilian heavy-water nuclear reactor. The Iranian nuclear power plant in Bushehr was attacked for the third time: located on the Persian Gulf coast, contamination from an incident there could affect Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates.
Additionally, universities in Tehran and Isfahan, along with hundreds of schools, were targeted, indicating US and Israeli intentions to dismantle Iran’s educational system. These bombings risk setting Iran back decades and undermining recovery efforts even after the war ends.
What was once called the "liberation of Iran" risks turning into the destruction of the country, its population, education system, and technological development.
This escalation highlights the complexity of the current conflict and the severe threat it poses to regional stability and civilian safety.
