Egypt and Pakistan are seeking a path to peace between the U.S. and Iran
Egypt, together with Pakistan, is working on a mechanism that could help ease tensions between the U.S. and Iran. Turkey and Saudi Arabia have already joined the process. This is not just about politics, but also about stability in the region and the world. This is according to Reuters.
Egypt and Pakistan are trying to find a practical way to stop further escalation between the US and Iran. According to international media reports, the parties are working on a mechanism intended to lay the foundation for lasting peace.
Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatti confirmed that Turkey and Saudi Arabia have also joined this initiative. In fact, a broader coalition of countries is forming that wants to prevent a new round of conflict. “This is not just about a political settlement,” Abdelatti explained. According to him, the countries are thinking more broadly: how to stabilize energy markets, avoid supply disruptions, and reduce risks to food security.
A separate focus is on the security of the Gulf states. They remain the most vulnerable in the event of further escalation. “These countries are in a high-risk zone,” the minister emphasized.
In fact, the goal is not merely to agree on de-escalating tensions, but to create a system capable of keeping the situation under control in the long term. Details are scarce so far, but the very fact of the talks indicates that the region is exploring options to prevent a major crisis.
Trump also stated that the U.S. wants to obtain Iranian uranium by any means necessary.
Iran has again restricted ship traffic through the Strait of Hormuz following the conflict with the US. Tehran claims this is a response to Washington’s actions.
