According to Anadolu Agency, citing Axios, US President Donald Trump is expected to meet with leaders of the Persian Gulf countries in New York next Tuesday. On the sidelines of the UN General Assembly, they are to discuss next steps in the war with Iran.
Post-war plan
Axios, citing three sources directly familiar with the plans, reported that the meeting is to focus on US proposals for a post-war strategy. The Trump administration is working on a broader action plan for the period after the war, which, according to the outlet, is to be finalized after the US midterm elections in November.

Expected participants
According to Axios, the meeting is expected to involve leaders or foreign ministers of the six countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council: Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, and Oman. Other Arab and Muslim leaders may also join the talks.
The US State Department sent the first invitations on Wednesday, Axios reported. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu also wants to meet with Trump in New York, but such a meeting is not currently planned.
