Trump is counting on a deal with Iran by April 7, threatening large-scale strikes

U.S. President Donald Trump has stated that a deal with Iran could be reached as early as April 6, 2026, warning that critical infrastructure would be completely destroyed if negotiations fail.

This was reported by Fox News. The American leader emphasized that if the agreement is not signed quickly, he is considering the option of large-scale bombings across the country, as well as establishing control over Iranian oil.

In an interview with host Trey Ingst, Trump clarified that Iranian representatives participating in the dialogue have amnesty to continue the negotiation process. Currently, the parties are engaged in active consultations, and the U.S. president assesses the chances of success as high. Earlier, Trump had already threatened Tehran with “Power Plant Day” and “Bridge Day” due to the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz, which poses a threat to the global energy market.

The situation has escalated amid reports that the U.S. lost at least seven aircraft in the conflict with Iran and successfully evacuated a wounded American colonel from Iranian territory. At the same time, Axios reported that the U.S. and Iran may be discussing the terms of a ceasefire without Israel’s involvement. A final decision on the future agreement is expected within the next 24 hours, while Russia continues to monitor developments in the region.

Prior to this, Trump issued an ultimatum to Iran’s leadership demanding that the Strait of Hormuz be unblocked by Tuesday, April 7

As a reminder, the IRGC announced the closure of the Strait of Hormuz and threatened a “harsh response” to ships.

The Strait of Hormuz could also become the “Trump Strait.”
