U.S. President Donald Trump reportedly acknowledged that Russian dictator Vladimir Putin is currently in a weaker position regarding the war against Ukraine.
During discussions at the G7 summit in France, Trump listened to the participants’ views and agreed with the assessment that Putin is now weaker than before.
“As I was told, Trump listened and acknowledged that during the discussion of the situation in Ukraine at the G7 summit, Putin is now in a weaker position than before,” Kefner wrote.
The journalist also reported that German Chancellor Friedrich Merz and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy plan to hold a bilateral meeting immediately after the plenary session with Trump.
She noted that Merz sees a “window of opportunity” for further decisions regarding Ukraine, as he has previously stated publicly.
According to Kefner, the meeting participants declined to comment to journalists on the possibility of supplying Ukraine with additional Patriot missiles, a question they were asked by the press.
