He called for remembering the victims and stated that Americans were able to persevere in the wake of the tragedy. Trump also called Iran the primary sponsor of terrorism and stated that the country should not possess nuclear weapons.
U.S. President Donald Trump, along with First Lady Melania Trump, took part in a memorial ceremony near the Pentagon. The event was dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks. The ceremony took place at the National September 11 Memorial in Arlington, Virginia. It was here, 25 years ago, that one of the planes hijacked by terrorists crashed into the Pentagon building.
Before Trump’s speech, the names of those who died on the plane and as a result of the strike on the Pentagon were read aloud at the ceremony. The U.S. president emphasized that the victims of the tragedy must not be forgotten. According to him, their memory must remain important for future generations as well. “Today we honor every U.S. service member who has participated in the war on terror. This is a war against depraved and horrific terrorism,” Trump stated.
He also spoke about how Americans responded to the September 11 attacks. The president emphasized the resilience of society and the country’s ability to weather difficult times. “The past 25 years have shown us the tremendous strength of the American spirit, which is capable of enduring, overcoming difficulties, and prevailing,” Trump said. According to him, after the tragedy, Americans demonstrated unity and determination in the fight against terrorism.
Trump also used the speech to address U.S. foreign policy. In particular, he mentioned Iran and accused the country’s leadership of supporting terrorism. The U.S. president called Iran “the leading sponsor of terrorism.” At the same time, Trump reiterated that Iran must not acquire nuclear weapons. He emphasized that this must not be allowed to happen.
At the end of his speech, the U.S. president stated that the United States is stronger today than ever before. “The U.S. is stronger than ever,” Trump said. He concluded his speech with the words: “May God bless the American military, and may God bless America.”

On September 11, 2001, the United States suffered the largest terrorist attack in its history. Four passenger planes were hijacked by members of the terrorist organization al-Qaeda. Two planes crashed into the towers of the World Trade Center in New York. The terrorists directed a third plane toward the Pentagon.
The fourth plane crashed in Pennsylvania after the passengers attempted to fight back against the attackers. Nearly 3,000 people were killed in the attacks. The victims included civilians, first responders, police officers, and military personnel. The September 11 tragedy changed U.S. policy and affected the security situation around the world. U.S. authorities launched a large-scale campaign against international terrorism, and the events of that day became one of the defining moments in modern U.S. history.
