Trump said the U.S. will purchase Ukrainian drones
U.S. President Donald Trump announced that the United States plans to purchase drones manufactured in Ukraine. According to the U.S. leader, Ukraine’s expertise in the field of drones could be beneficial to the U.S., and the purchase of such equipment will be one area of cooperation between the two countries.
Trump was asked about the status of the drone agreement between Ukraine and the U.S.
“We’re going to buy their drones. We make great drones, but they have the capacity to produce them in very large quantities, which is extremely impressive. It’s amazing that they’re manufacturing them in the midst of a war. They’re making them in basements,” the U.S. president replied.
He made these remarks during a meeting with his Ukrainian counterpart, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, in Ankara on the sidelines of the NATO summit.
Recall that Trump stated that the U.S. might allow Ukraine to manufacture missiles for the Patriot system.
