Trump called on Iranians to rise up against the government
U.S. President Donald Trump has effectively called on the Iranian people to rise up against the country’s current government. Against the backdrop of Washington’s conflict with Tehran, the American leader asked when Iranians would begin to resist the regime.
Donald Trump rejected the assertion that his current strategy is aimed at bringing Iran back to the negotiating table.
According to the U.S. president, reaching a new agreement with Tehran is not currently his main goal.
“I don’t care if they sign a deal they consider worthless,” Trump wrote.
The U.S. president also stated that he is satisfied with Washington’s current position, particularly regarding the situation in the Strait of Hormuz and the state of the Iranian economy.
“I much prefer our current position, with nearly complete control over the Strait of Hormuz and the complete destruction of their economy. They’re just playing out the inevitable,” he added.
Against the backdrop of the standoff between the U.S. and Iran, Trump also raised the issue of a possible popular uprising against the country’s government.
The U.S. president directly asked when the Iranians would begin to fight back.
“When will the Iranian people rise up and start fighting?” Trump asked.
Thus, his statement could be interpreted as a call for Iranians to resist the current regime.
Earlier, Donald Trump had already called on Iranian citizens to seize government buildings once the bombings stopped.
At the same time, the U.S. president warned of the dangers of such a scenario. He emphasized that unarmed demonstrators could be defenseless against armed supporters of the Iranian regime, who, according to him, are cracking down on protesters.

Iran accused the United States of striking a residential building where a wedding was taking place in the city of Kuhestak in the south of the country. According to Iranian sources, at least five people were killed, including a child.
U.S. forces completed a new series of strikes on several targets in Iran on Tuesday, September 1. The targets included air defense facilities, communications facilities, and radar systems.
