Trump accused Iran of violating agreements regarding the Strait of Hormuz

U.S. President Donald Trump stated that Iran is not properly fulfilling the agreements on the full resumption of oil traffic through the Strait of Hormuz.

Donald Trump wrote about this on the social media platform Truth Social.

“Iran is doing a very poor—perhaps even disgraceful—job of ensuring oil traffic through the Strait of Hormuz. That’s not what we agreed to!” Trump wrote on

Earlier, the American leader also criticized Tehran for charging oil tankers a fee to pass through the strait.

“They’d better not do this, and if it’s happening, it should stop immediately!” he emphasized.

Trump’s statements came amid tensions surrounding one of the key routes for global oil trade, through which a significant portion of the world’s energy resources passes.

As a reminder, U.S. President Donald Trump is demanding that European allies present concrete plans within a few days to ensure the safety of shipping in the Strait of Hormuz.

Recall that U.S. President Donald Trump stated that he had agreed to a two-week ceasefire with Iran, during which the parties plan to finalize a definitive agreement.

Iran has agreed to open the Strait of Hormuz to shipping for two weeks—for the duration of the ceasefire with the U.S. This agreement is part of broader negotiations on de-escalation in the region.

According to anonymous sources, Chinese officials held talks with Iranian representatives to encourage Tehran to cooperate and facilitate a ceasefire with the United States.
