Türkiye prepares to deliver first Hürkuş-II training aircraft to Air Force
Türkiye will soon deliver the first domestically produced next-generation Hürkuş-II training aircraft to the command of its Air Force. This was stated by Haluk Görgün, head of the Secretariat of Defence Industries, after flights on the Hürkuş-II and Hürjet together with Air Force Commander General Rafet Dalkıran, Anadolu Agency reports.
Final tests of the Hürkuş-II
According to Görgün, final tests of the Hürkuş-II took place on the day of the flights. He called the upcoming handover of the aircraft an important event for the country and stated that Türkiye is transferring a domestically produced aircraft to its own armed forces for the first time.
After the flight, Görgün asked Dalkıran whether the aircraft had passed inspection and whether its acceptance procedure had been completed. The Air Force commander replied that everything had been carried out excellently and that the procedure had been completed. Dalkıran also stated that, as Air Force commander, there was no greater source of pride for him than flying an aircraft produced in his country.

Radar test on the Hürjet
Separately, Görgün and Dalkıran took part in a test flight of the Hürjet. During it, the Hürjet P2 aircraft used the MURAD active electronically scanned array radar developed by Aselsan and detected the Hürjet P1, after which it locked onto the aircraft.
Görgün called this the first such case. According to him, Turkish Air Force personnel will undergo initial training on the Hürkuş and later advanced training on the Hürjet.
