Tusk says direct threat to Polish border crossing was averted
In Poland, a direct threat to a border crossing was averted overnight thanks to cooperation between Polish and Ukrainian services. Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk said this after a meeting of the Visegrad Group leaders in Slovakia, Anadolu Agency reports.

Tusk did not specify the nature of the averted threat or name the border crossing it concerned. According to him, Poland should be prepared for new provocations linked to the Russian Federation, an aggressor state, including possible acts of sabotage.
The Polish prime minister also said that Russia had previously carried out provocative attacks on border crossings, including in Moldova.

Attack on a border crossing in Odesa region
Tusk's statement came the day after Russian drones struck the Starokozache border crossing in the south of Ukraine's Odesa region, near Moldova. According to Ukrainian officials, two people were killed and three others were injured in the attack.
In addition, Tusk said he had received a fairly detailed briefing from CIA Director John Ratcliffe on possible developments in the coming months. He stressed the need for Poland and Europe to prepare for various scenarios on the eastern flank of the European Union.
