Tusk urged his opponents not to exploit the issue of military aid to Ukraine
Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk called on Polish politicians and the president not to use military aid to Ukraine for domestic political disputes, emphasizing that support for Kyiv is a matter of national security.
He made this statement during a ceremony in Bydgoszcz to sign an agreement on the production of American Barracuda 500 cruise missiles. According to the head of government, every Russian missile, drone, or aircraft destroyed by Ukrainian forces directly enhances Poland’s own security, so consensus on this issue must not be undermined by historical debates or the refugee issue.
“Every missile fired in Ukraine that accurately destroys the aggressor’s missiles, drones, or aircraft means greater security for Poland. This cannot be discussed in the context of some senseless domestic political struggle. I appeal to all those who want to stop military aid to Ukraine: surely you haven’t sided with Russia? That cannot be,” Tusk emphasized.
Tusk recalled that large-scale arms deliveries were initiated by the previous government of Mateusz Morawiecki with full cross-party support, and warned opponents against spreading anti-Ukrainian narratives that benefit Russia. He emphasized that his cabinet, together with Deputy Prime Minister Vladyslav Kosiniak-Kamysz, is carefully monitoring the situation to ensure that the transfer of weapons does not weaken the country’s own defense capabilities. The prime minister also announced that official data on the volume of Polish aid would be released soon and called for continued solidarity so that the country would not pay a high price for political differences, according to Ukrinform.
Separately, Tusk warned against spreading anti-Ukrainian narratives, which, he said, benefit Russia.
“There will always be some MP like Brown, someone from the ‘Confederation,’ some Russian agent, or Russian trolls who will call on Poles not to help Ukraine and portray it as an enemy. Some people like this, but Poland’s security cannot be jeopardized for the sake of cheap political popularity. Come to your senses, because this is truly the last moment,” the Polish prime minister emphasized.

Tusk also confirmed the transfer of missiles for the Patriot air defense systems to Ukraine.
Earlier, Krzysztof Bosak, Deputy Speaker of the Sejm and leader of the right-wing Confederation party, accused the government of secretly providing Ukraine with expensive interceptor missiles for the Patriot systems in March of this year. According to the opposition politician, these missiles were purchased directly from the United States to develop Poland’s own multi-layered air defense system and are the only means at the Polish Army’s disposal capable of intercepting Russian “Iskander” ballistic missiles.
Polish Defense Minister Kosiniak-Kamysz announced that, following consultations with Prime Minister Donald Tusk, he had ordered the declassification of information regarding all Polish military supplies to Ukraine from 2022 to 2026. He also ordered the Military Counterintelligence Service to identify those involved in the possible disclosure of state secrets.
