Tusk urged Ukraine and Poland not to escalate disputes over history
Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk commented on the renewed tensions between the two countries. He called on Kyiv and Warsaw to refrain from conflicts over historical issues, particularly following discussions regarding the naming of a Ukrainian Special Operations Forces unit after the Heroes of the UPA.
He wrote about this on Twitter.
Tusk called on the presidents of Ukraine and Poland not to quarrel over the past, as someone else would benefit from it.
“If we quarrel over the past, someone else will win the future. The President of Ukraine must finally understand this. The President of Poland too. Before it’s too late!” wrote the Polish Prime Minister.
As a reminder, there was outrage in Poland over the name of the Special Operations Forces unit honoring the Heroes of the UPA.
Poland is ready to help Hungary achieve energy independence from Russia.
Hungarian Prime Minister Péter Magyar began his first official foreign visit on May 19 after taking office, choosing Poland as his destination.
Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk stated that the Polish government will try to influence the Pentagon’s decision regarding the possible withdrawal of U.S. troops from the country.
