In the Belgorod Region of the Russian Federation, "frontline" allowances for public sector employees have been discontinued

In the Shebekinsky District of the Belgorod Region, which is regularly subjected to shelling from Ukraine, payments of "frontline" allowances to public sector employees have been suspended due to a lack of funds.

This is reported by local media.

The local council adopted a resolution on financial support for civilians affected by military operations back in September 2024. Formally, it remains in effect, but in practice, payments have ceased since January due to a budget deficit amounting to 17.4 billion rubles.

“When the January salary came without the ‘trench’ allowances, we were told there was no money and they wouldn’t be paying them anymore,” said one local resident.

The allowance was last paid in December 2025; it amounted to about 10,000 rubles per month, or 500 rubles per workday. Residents hope that, due to the council’s current decision, they will still receive the accumulated amount for several months.

Vyacheslav Gladkov, governor of the Belgorod region, appealed to the federal government to allocate funds for the construction of 700 modular shelters against Ukrainian drones and missiles.

Vyacheslav Gladkov, Governor of the Belgorod Region of the Russian Federation, stated that residents of part of the region will likely have to temporarily leave their homes due to prolonged power outages.
