The UK has stated that the world has not become a safer place following the U.S. strikes on Iran
The UK Finance Minister stated that the global situation has not become safer following the US and Israeli strikes on Iran.

As Reeves noted, starting a war instead of continuing negotiations with the Iranian regime was a mistake.
"Over the past six weeks, it has not been clear what exactly the goal of this conflict is. I am not convinced that this conflict has made the world safer," she said at a CNBC event held on the sidelines of the spring meetings of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank in Washington.
Reeves’ remarks highlighted how much the hostilities have strained relations between the U.S. and key European allies, as they are causing chaos in global supply chains and energy markets.
Reeves noted that a diplomatic channel existed prior to the war with Tehran and that “it was a mistake to halt” negotiations. However, she downplayed the long-term consequences of the disagreements with the U.S.
“You don’t always have to agree on everything, and in fact, when you’re friends, you can tell the truth,” she said.

As a reminder, U.S. President Donald Trump stated that he had agreed to a two-week ceasefire with Iran, during which the parties plan to finalize a definitive agreement.
Iran agreed to open the Strait of Hormuz to shipping for two weeks—for the duration of the ceasefire with the U.S. This agreement is part of broader negotiations on de-escalation in the region.
According to anonymous sources, Chinese officials held talks with Iranian representatives to encourage Tehran to cooperate and facilitate a ceasefire with the United States.
