Disruptions to air and mobile communications in Finland have increased due to Russia — Yle
The Finnish Transport and Communications Agency (Traficom) reports an increase this spring in the number of incidents of interference with air traffic and mobile communications. According to the agency, the source of such interference is believed to be in Russia.
This was reported by Yle.
According to Traficom, the number of cases of satellite navigation interference has increased significantly since February. In some areas, the figures were exceptionally high.
In addition, disruptions to cellular networks near Finland’s eastern border previously occurred mostly at night; however, according to the latest data, they can also occur during the day.
Traficom believes that the jamming is linked to Russia’s efforts to protect its critical infrastructure.
