In France, 20,000 people were evacuated due to a massive wildfire (photo/video)
In the Gironde department in southwestern France, about 20,000 people have already been evacuated due to a massive wildfire.
The fire in the Gironde department has spread to 3,100 hectares, and the total number of evacuees has risen to about 20,000.
Among the latest to be evacuated were residents of another village and vacationers from three campgrounds.

No one has been injured in the fire, but it has already destroyed one house. The fire’s “front” is approximately 300 meters from the outermost homes in the commune of Lège-Cap-Ferret, which has 8,000 residents.
The prefecture notes that weather conditions remain unfavorable—with shifting winds and high temperatures.

We previously reported that 150 people were evacuated in southern France due to a large-scale wildfire.
The European Union has sent specialized firefighting aircraft to assist France and Portugal.
Spanish authorities have completed the identification of 13 people who died as a result of a massive wildfire in the Los Gallardos area of Andalusia. Nearly all of the victims were foreign nationals.
In Germany, firefighters managed to contain a large-scale wildfire in the Müritz National Park, which broke out on the site of a former military training ground.
