Two helicopters collided in Greece while fighting a forest fire
Two helicopters collided while fighting a large forest fire in the Psata area, west of Athens. The crew of one of the helicopters has not been in contact, according to “European Truth,” citing the Greek publication Ekathimerini.
The Greek Fire Service stated that it immediately mobilized forces for a search-and-rescue operation following the collision. At the time of publication, the search for the crews was ongoing.

The crew of one of the helicopters, consisting of two pilots, has been found. According to reports, contact was immediately established with them. The pilots are being transported by ambulance to the Air Force General Hospital in Athens.
Nothing is currently known about the condition or whereabouts of the second crew. Both helicopters took off from the Elefsina Air Base. Earlier, near the city of Megara, also west of Athens, residents were ordered to evacuate an industrial park and several villages due to large-scale wildfires.
