Actor and announcer Reo Morimoto dies in Japan

Actor and announcer Reo Morimoto, known for his gentle voice and television work, died in Japan on September 4. He was 83. As The Japan Times reports, the artist’s agency said he died suddenly and that the cause of death was unknown.

Actor’s career

Morimoto, whose real name was Haruyuki, was from Nagoya. He made his acting debut in 1967 in the NHK public broadcaster’s drama series “Koukousei Jidai.”

Among Morimoto’s notable roles were work in the television series “Kiiroi Namida” (“Yellow Tears”) and “Ai to Iu Na no Moto ni” (“In the Name of Love”), as well as in the film “Kids Return.”

Work as an announcer

Reo Morimoto gained wide popularity as an announcer thanks to his expressive and calm delivery. He provided narration for numerous entertainment programs and commercials.
